What a successful January membership recruitment meeting our chapter members pulled off. Thanks to membership chair Tara Gibson, CAP-OM for her input and assistance in planning and preparing for the meeting. 4 non-IAAP guests attended along with a visiting IAAP member looking for a new home chapter. I thank the chapter members who could attend. We had 50% attendance at the meeting-helping to meet a criteria for the SHIP Award!!
We also had a very special presentation in memory of President Jean Stilwell whom we lost in December 2010. Rena Morris, CAP-OM did a wonderful job putting that together. We were so pleased that members of Jean's family could be with us. I passed along to them the white rose in her memory that I accepted during the Omega Service at last year's annual meeting.
An excellent program presented by Althia Johnson on "How to Survive the Jungle" was presented with a recertification point approved. Thank you Althia. Another program that was FUN and educational for our LEARNING part as our chapter theme states: Partnership of Learning and Fun on the IAAP Ship of Success.
Our journey on the IAAP Ship of Success is now halfway over and we are leaping over those waves to a remarkable end. I'm looking forward to another successful meeting in February. We will have Dana C. Morgan, CAP-OM from Cherokee Rose Chapter as the guest speaker. Please see more information about the meeting under the Meetings & Events tab.
The inspirational quote for the month is by Thomas Edison. "If we did all the things we are capable of doing, we would literally astound ourselves."
