International IAAP Meetings & Events

EDUCATION FORUM AND ANNUAL MEETING

The International Education Forum & Annual Meeting is IAAP’s premier event taking place during the summer with over 1,200 attendees. This event offers more than 50 education workshops focusing on topics from management skills to leadership development. Attendees will have the opportunity to see the inner workings of the association by attending the business sessions that highlight the association leadership. And don’t forget the numerous networking events that provide social gatherings with your peers.

ADMINISTRATIVE PROFESSIONALS WEEK

Since 1952, the International Association of Administrative Professionals has honored office workers by sponsoring Administrative Professionals Week. Today, it is one of the largest workplace observances outside of employee birthdays and major holidays.

SPRING CONFERENCE

The Spring Conference is held each March. It is a 2½ day conference held in North America providing opportunities to network, share ideas, problems and solutions with other admins. You will have the opportunity to hear three to four top-notch presenters and return to your job with renewed enthusiasm and ideas. You will also receive recertification points if you are an active CPS and/or CAP holder. CEU is available as an alernative to recertification points.

FALL CONFERENCE

The Fall Conference is held each October in various locations in North America. This 2½ day conference provides opportunities to network, share ideas, problems and solutions with other admins. You will have the opportunity to hear three to four top-notch presenters and return to your job with renewed energy and vitality. You will also receive recertification points if you are an active CPS and/or CAP holder. You can receive CEU as an alernative to recertification points.

CHAPTER MEETING

The February 28, 2012 meeting will be the a regular chapter meeting with guest speaker Dana C. Morgan, CAP-OM, Vice President of Cherokee Rose Chapter presenting "Being a Business Professional in a Technical World."  1.5 recertification points has been approved.  Dinner will be included at $10.00 per person and will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Dean Center at Amicalola EMC, 544 Hwy. 515 South, Jasper, GA 30143.

Guest Speakers

January 2012 Guest Speaker
Althia Johnson from the Okefenokee Swamp Park in Waycross (a.k.a. Donna Mitchell, CAP-OM, Past GA Division President) was the guest speaker for the chapter's membershsip recruitment meeting.  Her "How to Survive the Jungle!" presentation pointed out to more valuable and survive in today's economy, administrative professionals must exhibit professionalism and they must be committed and strive for excellence through knowledge, skills, professional etiquette, and ethics.

December Guest Speaker
Santa Claus was the guest speaker at the December 20 meeting.  He presented an educational program on Computer and Internet Safety and afterward he told a few funny stories about the things children and adults do while he is in town to visit with them.  To contact Santa about any events or computer safety needs call him at 770-894-7185.
